This gorgeous and detailed painting c.1765 depicts a coat of arms featuring a lion rampant and unicorn. Surrounding it are golden cherubic motifs and illustrations of mythological gods. It is enclosed by the original giltwood frame. Verso is an handwritten inscription reading "Edwards, Northowram Hall, Yorkshire, 1765".
Provenance: This piece resided in the private collection of the Earl and Countess of Guilford from the late 18th century onward.
