A handsome early 20th century soldier, articulated and made of hand-painted wood. Most likely estate made. He is highly decorated and carries a sword.
Provenance: from the Caemawr estate in Wales, home of the late Sir John Harvey-Jones MBE. He served in the Royal Navy during WW2, surviving two battleship sinkings before becoming a submarine captain at age 24. He went on the serve in Naval Intelligence during the Cold War. Afterwards, he successfully ran several businesses before starring in the BBC’s ‘Troubleshooter’ series. The show won him a BAFTA and made him one of the most well known industrialists in recent history. He became chairman of The Economist in 1989.
