A beautiful pair of mid 19th century handpainted armorials in giltwood frames. Both strung verso and ready to hang.
The first depicting a bird within a star on a shield, a bird above, and the banner above stating "Patience". Verso a handwritten note stating "Dow of Ardenhall, recorded between 1672-1680" and a label from the most recent framing date, by WJ Allan May 1914.
The second depicting three bells upon a shield, a deer above, and the banner above stating "Signum Pacis Amor" (Love is the Token of Peace). Verso a label from the most recent framing date, by WJ Allan May 1914.
