A guidebook for exploring Egypt, with 23 maps, 66 plans and 59 vignettes of various cities, tombs, and temples. This is the personal copy of Sir Reginald Hoskins (30 May 1871 – 7 February 1942) a senior British Army officer of the First World War who was stationed in Egypt. The title page is signed by him.
8vo (Pott). Red cloth covers with front cover and spine featuring gilt lettering. Slight split between spine and front cover but holding firm. Owner's bookplate on front pastedown, signed by owner on title page. Internal pages toned but clean and unmarked. All maps present and folded neatly. Binding tight. Overall a very good copy with excellent provenance.
