A striking portrait of a police sergeant who wears WW2 service decorations. In the background is a chalkboard listing crimes solved and unsolved. The sitter's sardonic grin adds even more character to this piece. Oil on canvas, unframed, ready to hang. Signed by artist in lower right corner.
The artist: Alice R Kendall FRSA (1922-2011) studied at Edinburgh College of Art. She exhibited at the Royal Scottish Academy and the Royal Academy, London. She was President of the Society of Women Artists, 1977–1982.
