A charming hand painted wood cart on chassis and wheels, which originally would have been hitched to a toy animal. Likely estate made. The cart rests on the chassis, and all wood is solid. Painted throughout in a lovely shade of green with some decorative detailing. Lovely wear and patina throughout. Plenty of room in the cart area to display additional items, making this an ideal decorative piece with provenance.
Provenance: from the Caemawr estate in Wales, home of the late Sir John Harvey-Jones MBE. He served in the Royal Navy during WW2, surviving two battleship sinkings before becoming a submarine captain at age 24. He went on the serve in Naval Intelligence during the Cold War. Afterwards, he successfully ran several businesses before starring in the BBC’s ‘Troubleshooter’ series. The show won him a BAFTA and made him one of the most well known industrialists in recent history. He became chairman of The Economist in 1989.
