We’re inspired every day by our city, built on thousands of years of human civilization. From Bronze Age settlements to 12th-century monuments and Enlightenment institutions, Edinburgh has been a bastion of tradition and a leader in human innovation for centuries.

Houselore was born from the desire to share and preserve European history while advocating for sustainable living in the face of ‘fast deco’ that is harming the Earth and its people. We believe that treasure can be found anywhere if you know how to look.

Our Founder

Alexandra Jones

Alexandra spent her early career working in international provenance research for Nazi-era theft restitution. This was followed by intelligence positions based in the Middle East and Europe. She most recently appeared in the Netflix documentary “The Most Dangerous Man in Europe”. Alexandra studied Art History at Miami University of Ohio and attained an MA in European History at the University of Glasgow. She is based in Edinburgh, Scotland.
