A scarce Spiritualist text exploring the identity of spirits. Includes chapters on Paranormal Investigation, The Intelligence of Spirits, Personal Experiences, Spirit Photography, and The Power of Spirits to Gain Access to Sources of Information. M. A. Oxon, aka William Stainton Moses (1839-1892) was an English clergyman and President of the London Spiritualist Alliance. Moses claimed a number of clairvoyant and psychical experiences and was best known for his 'automatic scripts' received via direct communication from spirits between 1872 and 1883.

Previous owner's bookplate on pastedown, small tear to flyleaf, additional owner's stamps. Foxing to title page. Light toning and foxing to interior pages, otherwise clean. Binding is tight. Overall a good copy of this scarce book.
