A striking 19th century sign depicting a crown and laurels surrounding the letters 'R F' for 'République Française'. Handpainted oil on canvas, nailed to wood. Verso is stamped 'Bachelet & Cie'. Also includes several labels, one being from the Chemins de fer de l'Ouest, a 19th century French railway company, stating Paris St. Lazare station as the sign's destination. Original hanging hardware.
