Culpeper provides proper preparations for different herbs including anemone, dittany, cottonweed, hemlock, beech-tree, tobacco, rhubarb, onions, garlic, hops, horseradish, mustard, apples, mint, parsnip, wheat, hazelnuts, fennel, oats and parsley, lavender, lettuce, roses, and hundreds more.
4to (Demy). Original half calf binding with marbled boards. Gilt lettering and gilt raised bands on spine. Slightly bumped corners, shelf wear to edges of boards and spine. Inscriptions from previous owners dated to 1854, 1896, and 1937 on pastedown. Some foxing and toning to title page and illustration opposite, which depicts Nicholas Culpeper and his home. Internal pages clean with occasional foxing. Binding tight. Overall a very good and solid copy.
