First Edition, Very Scarce. With original dust jacket. A fascinating volume detailing 'primitive' beliefs and customs found in the north-east of Scotland over the past three centuries. Including chapters on Fire Festivals, Spirits, Faeries, The Black Arts, Working Woe, Divination, and more. The dust jacket states that the book also "brings to light pagan rights not hitherto known to exist in modern times".

8vo. Original dust jacket with loss to bottom of spine and and wear to top edges. Publisher's green cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine. Boards and spine in nearly untouched condition. Previous owner's plate to pastedown, and signature on flyleaf. Internal pages clean with light toning. Binding very tight. A very good copy of this scarce work.
