Scarce. A fantastic book of chilling ghost stories by Cheiro, with sections on Ghosts That Come Unbidden and Ghosts That Are Bidden. William John Warner, popularly known as Cheiro (November 1, 1866 – October 8, 1936), was an Irish astrologer and colourful occult figure of the early 20th century. His sobriquet, Cheiro, derives from the word cheiromancy, meaning palmistry. He was a self-described clairvoyant who learned palmistry, astrology, and Chaldean numerology in India during his stay there.

8vo. Cloth boards with illustrations by Countess Hamon. Wear to hinges and edges of spine and covers. Corners bumped. Previous owners' inscription to flyleaf. Some toning and foxing to internal pages, otherwise pages clean and unmarked. Binding tight.
