First Edition, with scarce original dust jacket. A collection of folktales, fables, Arthurian romances, tales of chivalry, and other stories reflecting life and thought in the Middle Ages. Includes wonderful black and white illustrations by A.G. Walker. Stunning gilt design to the spine and front cover.

8vo (Post). Publisher's red cloth boards with elaborate gold decoration on cover and spine. Boards and spine in near fine condition. Rare original dust jacket in fair condition with some loss to top of spine and wear at edges. Previous owner's inscription to flyleaf. Binding is tight and square, hinges are sound. Frontispiece with tissue guard. Internal pages clean and unmarked. Gilt top edge to pages.
